Psychological Science
The Master of Arts program in Psychological Science trains students to become psychological scientists. The course curriculum provides foundational knowledge in the core domains of psychology (i.e., cognitive, social, developmental, biological), research methods, and data analysis. Using a mentor-based model, students gain experience in developing, conducting, evaluating, and disseminating psychological studies. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to enter the research and data analysis workforce or to continue their education in doctoral programs in psychology or related fields.
Note about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
University Communications recently required programs to remove statements about diversity, equity, and inclusion. Therefore, the Psychological Science program is no longer allowed to publicly state our unending commitment to cultivating an inclusive departmental community that values diverse perspectives and nurtures people with varied identities and experiences. The program also cannot state how we have the goal of recruiting, retaining, supporting, and advocating for students with a range of identities and experiences. If the university policy changes, we will update this page to add information about our continued goal of promoting teaching, research, and service that recognizes the importance of learning about diversity in order to understand human behavior. For now, although none of the values or policies of the Psychological Science program have changed, we cannot post information about our commitment to fostering a healthy and diverse program.
